Why a cactus?
Ideas in the studio usually come from nowhere, and Leonando has been my beloved character for a long time. Cacti are tough, they survive the heat, and they’re iconic to the North American landscape. It just made sense to let him lead the 2026 series.
Where does the name "Leonando" come from?
It’s a bit of a play on words. I liked the name Leo, and I was playing around with "Nando’s" (the chicken spot). Putting them together made Leonando—it’s unique, it’s catchy, and it’s got its own identity. It’s a name you won’t hear anywhere else.
